Trustees Announce Surveying and Engineering for north end of Hudson Road

The Franklin Township Trustees are pleased to announce that engineering and survey work is underway to improve the safety of Hudson Road from Ravenna Road to approximately 200 feet south of Newton Drive.  The roadway will be reengineered to meet state standards.  This will include improving two vertical curves for proper sight distance, possibly widening the road and berms, full depth rebuilding of the roadway base where necessary and improving the roadway drainage.  This portion of Hudson Road will provide a smoother and safer driving experience for residents when the work is completed.

The Township has partnered with the Portage County Engineer’s office and an outside engineering firm to perform the survey and engineering work. This is targeted to be completed during May.  The repaving work is expected to be completed this calendar year.

The project is being funded by a grant from the Ohio Public Works Commission and Township road levies.  The total project cost is estimated to be $420,400.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the township office Monday through Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 330-673-2194.
