Mark Beckwith was elected Trustee in 1997 and is now serving in his
fourth term. A life-long resident of Franklin Township and a Kent Roosevelt High School graduate, Mark earned his Bachelor and Masters Degrees in Criminal Justice from Kent State University.
Mark is part owner of Beckwith Orchards Cider Mill and Gift Shop and also works for the Summit County Prosecutorís Office. He and his wife Kathleen have two children. Mark helps ensure the township operates in a fiscally sound manner.
Keith Benjamin was elected Trustee in 1993 and is now serving in his
fifth term. Prior to becoming a Trustee, he served on the Board of Zoning Appeals for
7 years, 4 of those as chairman. Keith and his wife Wendy have lived in the Franklin Township area since 1967. Keith earned a Bachelor Degree in education and Masters Degree in Biology, both from Kent State University. Keith
retired from the Kent City School District, where he taught science and biology for 34 years. Keith and Wendy have four
children. He has a strong interest in seeing that there is planned, conservative growth for Franklin Township.
Gary Falstad was elected Trustee in 1999. He is in his 3rd term as a
Trustee and in the 2nd year of this term. He served on the Board of Zoning Appeals for 18 years and was chairman for 9 years. Gary and his wife Gloria have lived in the Franklin Township area since 1955. Gary earned a graphics art degree from the North Dakota State School of Science in
Whapton, North Dakota. In 1999, he retired from Commercial Press as CEO and President with 44 years service. Gary and Gloria have three children,
14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Garyís focus is to maintain all the services provided by the township and improve the parks. He enjoys working with township residents to help them solve problems.
