What is a Fiscal Officer?
Fiscal Officer (or clerk) is responsible for public accounting and record keeping for all matters concerning finance in the township, including but not limited to budgeting, appropriations, fund accounting, bill paying, payroll (within the township and for contracted services with the Portage County Sheriff's Office and the City of Kent for Fire/EMS services), accounts receivable, etc. Governmental reporting of all financial transactions, liabilities and preparation of financial records for audit; creation and maintenance of a public record of all bimonthly meetings.
I began serving as Fiscal Officer in April 2012. Each day that passes is a learning opportunity for which I am grateful. Being an integral part of the way our residents receive the level of quality services we are able to provide is a privilege. My husband Glenn and I have been township residents for 30+ years and are Kent Schools alumni. We raised our two sons here and they, along with their families, are also township homeowners. I have spent more than 20 years working with children who have special needs in the Kent City School district. My love for this community and my commitment to its residents run deep.
